Centene Announces Expansion for 2021 Health Insurance Marketplace

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 11, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) announced today that it plans to expand its offering in the 2021 Health Insurance Marketplace. The company is targeting expansion of its Marketplace product, branded Ambetter, in nearly 400 new counties across 13 existing states. Social Security announces new online service for replacement Social Security cards in Alabama

The Social Security Administration introduced the expansion of online services for residents of Alabama available through its my Social Security portal at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount. Andrew Saul, Commissioner of Social Security, announced that residents of Alabama can use the portal for many replacement Social Security number (SSN) card requests. This will allow people to replace their SSN card from the comfort of their home or office.

    California Governor Gavin Newsom said at his Monday press conference that the state was adjusting some of the workplace closure guidelines it issued last week, specifically those around hair salons and barbershops and the “personal care services industry.” The governor said he had wanted to make the changes earlier, but that it “turned out that was more challenging than it may have appeared.”

    “The good news is,” said Newsom, “we now have new guidelines out on the COVID-19.ca.gov website clarifying what we can and can’t do as it relates to hair cuts and activities that we want to move from indoors to outdoors for personal care services industry,” said Newsom.

    Fox News’ Tucker Carlson addressed the resignation of Blake Neff, a writer for Carlson’s show who quit soon after a CNN report revealed racist and sexist comments he had posted online.

    Carlson admitted to the viewers of his show on Monday night that “what Blake wrote anonymously was wrong.”

    “We don’t endorse those words,” Carlson said. “They have no connection to the show. It is wrong to attack people for qualities they cannot control.”

    At the end of his show, the Fox News host announced that he would be going on a previously planned trout-fishing vacation for the next few days. 

    According to a report from CNN Business, Neff had been posting messages under a pseudonym on the AutoAdmit message board.

    His posts included racial slurs and rants against Black people, as well as continuous posts sent over five years about a woman he mocked and insulted, CNN Business reported.
