This start-up works like a dating site for therapy

Mental health challenges are on the rise — which is a serious concern for health-care professionals around the world.

A report from the American Psychological Association (APA) found that while only 69% of Americans reported feeling stress in 2018, nearly 85% now say they are feeling generalized anxiety.

In April alone, about 20,000 people texted a hotline run by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, a federal agency for people in emotional distress. That’s a 1,000% increase.

It’s a growing trend amid the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly when seeing someone in-person is a challenge.

Enter Kendall Bird, CEO of Frame, a company helping match therapists and prospective clients.

Bird, who previously worked in technology at both YouTube and Snapchat, has been in therapy for more than 15 years. When she relocated for work from New York to Los Angeles, Bird had to change therapists, and finding one was no

Target Created an Online Badge to Identify Black-Owned Brands on Its Site

Though it might seem for some people that the traction surrounding the recent Black Lives Matter uprising had died down, in reality, the work is only just beginning. Companies and customers alike are still making important shifts in the way they operate in order to support Black communities fairly and more consistently. Some retailers, such as Sephora, have pledged to continually increase the number of Black-owned brands it carries in its stores, and some brands such as Lashify are participating in mentorship programs for Black business owners. Hoboken Coronavirus Testing Site Closes Temporarily; Updates

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla said in an update on Tuesday night that the city’s uptown coronavirus testing center will close from Wednesday through Sunday, but alternatives are being offered in nearby towns during that time.

“Dr. Brahmbhatt informed me that he is unavailable for the next three days, which will result in the Riverside testing site at 14th and Jefferson Street to be closed until Monday,” Bhalla said. “We wish Dr. Brahmbhatt and his staff a restful and well-deserved time off.”

Testing demand has remained high in this mile-square city of 53,000 people, particularly with the mayor recently saying that cases are rising again.

Over the past two days, the city’s volunteer emergency response team has fielded 400 calls for testing, Bhalla said.

In addition, Bhalla and Gov. Phil Murphy have said that New Jerseyans returning from 19 states with coronavirus spikes should get tested and self-quarantine
